Widzew Łódź has acquired Karol Świderski, a Polish national team striker. Świderski was a player for Panathinaikos Athens last season, but decided to return to Poland. The 29-year-old signed a contract with Widzew until the end of June 2029. According to the media, the transfer of Świderski was worth even one million euros - plus bonuses. Karol Świderski explained that he decided to transfer to Widzew because he missed Poland. And it wasn't just about the money, but about the opportunity to be at home. Świderski is one of the best Polish players, who has played 51 matches for the Polish national team. He was at Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, and Euro 2024. So now he returns to the country after seven years, when he was a player for Jagiellonia Białystok. Świderski scored 20 goals and nine assists for Jagiellonia in 113 matches. Widzew Łódź is a big project, which already has many great players. Świderski hopes to help the club improve its result from the previous season and fight for something good for the fans. But first, he needs to get used to the new environment and new colleagues. Świderski is looking forward to the first training sessions.
