Widzew Łódź develops women's football with ambitious plans. Women's football in Poland is developing. In 2025, the Polish national team played in the European Championships for the first time in history, winning a historic match against Denmark. Several clubs that mean something in men's football also have women's sections. It seems that Widzew Łódź may have grand plans for women's football. Patrycja Balcerzak, a former Polish national team player and currently the Director of the Women's Football Department at Widzew Łódź, said that they want to make a strong mark on the Polish football map. Widzew has high organizational standards, with an academy that already has almost 110 girls in groups from U7 to U15. For now, the team plays in the fourth league, but the players are only 15-16 years old. We are building strong academy structures, but our goal is to promote to the elite and play in European cups as soon as possible. Let's recall that Widzew has been in the spotlight of Polish football observers for several months. All due to the investments made by the club's owner, Robert Dobrzycki. The team from Łódź spent over 20 million euros on transfers, but so far, they have not found their way in Ekstraklasa. They are fighting for survival, and recently hired Aleksandar Vuković is already the fourth coach of Widzew this season. And just like in the case of men, Widzew Łódź is also betting on young and talented players in women's football. So we can expect to see many interesting matches and successes from our club in the future. But for now, we have to wait until the women's team promotes to the elite and starts playing in European cups.
