Widzew Łódź has unveiled a possible lineup for the upcoming 2026/27 season, featuring three new faces and the return of Karol Świderski, while coach Aleksander Vuković highlighted a chance for Osman Bukari – the club's record signing.

Who joined the new squad?

The team lost Dariusz Adamczuk, Piotr Burlikowski and Mindaugas Nikolicius. In their place Artur Płatek from Raków Częstochowa, Łukasz Masłowski from Jagiellonia Białystok and Piotr Kosiorowski from Polonia Warsaw were added, according to Vuković's interview with TVP Sport.

What are the key reinforcements?

The only confirmed signing so far is Karol Świderski, a Polish international who arrived from Panathinaikos for €1 million and will line up as the new number nine. Vuković stressed that Bukari, who cost €5.5 million, could get a second chance if he is not loaned out.

Which positions still need filling?

Widzew is searching for a left‑back – one candidate is Bartłomiej Wdowik from Braga. In midfield the squad lacks a player because Lukas Lerager is injured. For now Christopher Cheng and Lindon Selahi, both newly added, are covering those roles.

What are the opening fixtures and betting odds?

The season kicks off at home on 26 July against a completely rebuilt Motor Lublin. Widzew then travels to Wisła Płock on 31 July and Jagiellonia Białystok on 9 August. The next home game comes in the fourth round versus Korona Kielce.

Bookmakers rate Widzew as the strongest title contender – the win odds stand at 5.00, compared with Lech Poznań at 2.75 and Legia Warsaw at 6.00.

What could the final squad look like?

The potentially strongest XI for Widzew Łódź is: Bartłomiej Drągowski; Carlos Muñoz, Przemysław Wiśniewski, Steve Kapuadi, Christopher Cheng (new); Osman Bukari, Lindon Selahi (new), Emil Kornvig, Juljan Shehu, Mariusz Fornalczyk; Karol Świderski. Depth options include Velijko Ilić, Marcel Krajewski, Mateusz Żyro, Stelios Andreou, Ricardo Visus, Angel Baena, Fran Álvarez, Sebastian Bergier, Tonio Teklić, Samuel Akere and Andi Zeqiri.
